About me

The first product I ever shipped was built for myself. I was repeating the same searches in log files day after day, so I wrote Pure Trace — turning hard-won lessons into a knowledge base that remembered them for me. It became the starting point for everything: solve your own annoying problems well, and you quietly help others too.

Most apps since then grew the same way. Every App Store submission meant wrestling with screenshot sizes and multi-language copy, so Pure Canvas and Pure Archive were born — one for the canvas, one for the copy, and they help each other. Surveying Wi-Fi networks brought NetGraph; wanting to peek into diagnostic bundles on the go brought DiagnosticsTools. And Fawnwell, the one in development, will keep my family's health records firmly in our own hands.

The domain, icancan.cc, reads as "I can, can" — a reminder hanging on the door: a tool can be small, but you need the confidence to finish it well.

Three small things I believe

  • Built for myself first:Every app started as a problem that annoyed me personally. Things I use daily get polished daily; features that never convince me never ship.
  • Data stays where it belongs:Your timetables, health records, and survey reports live on your own devices and iCloud. No servers, no analytics or ad SDKs — not even crash reporting. Privacy is not a setting; it is the premise.
  • Slowly, and forever:LessonTally has iterated to 3.0, and every update to every app is written down in its changelog. No chasing trends — just answering real problems, for as long as people use them.

Timeline

All apps, newest first — this list keeps growing.

  1. Fawnwell

Fawnwell is a family health recording tool: temperature, symptoms, cycles, and medication all live in one ongoing journal per family member, backed by profiles (allergies, chronic conditions), visit-summary PDFs, an emergency card, and a medicine cabinet. Local-first by design, with sync through your own iCloud. It records and presents information only — it never diagnoses or suggests medication.

  2. NetGraph

NetGraph is a professional Wi-Fi site survey and heatmap app for network engineers, IT teams, installers, and low-voltage integrators: floor plans, field samples, and multi-metric heatmaps turn coverage and real-world experience into client-ready reports.

  3. DiagnosticsTools

DiagnosticsTools brings diagnostics bundles and log analysis to iPhone and iPad: import ZIP archives, browse structured views, and match against a knowledge base to pinpoint issues — all processed locally, nothing uploaded.

  4. Pure Archive

Pure Archive is a macOS app for developers and content-maintenance workflows: manage App Store metadata, digital assets, localized copy, and screenshot export in local .parch documents, with optional AI / MCP client integration.

  5. LessonTally

LessonTally is a local-first course management tool covering scheduling, lesson check-ins, complimentary-session progress, reminders, and statistics. Data stays on your device by default, with optional iCloud sync and calendar integration.

  6. Pure Trace

Pure Trace is an offline log analysis tool for searching, filtering, and troubleshooting logs: block-search context, timezone conversion, Minimap navigation, regex search, and a Markdown knowledge base. Logs are parsed entirely on your device — nothing is uploaded.

  7. Pure Canvas

Pure Canvas is a desktop app for building App Store preview images: local screenshot editing, template management, multi-device sizing, and one-click export. Projects and images stay on your device by default.
